Q: What is the difference between an ALC© diploma and a GED?
A: A GED certificate is not a high school diploma--rather, it is a high school equivalency. An ALC diploma is a High School Diploma recognized by the state of Texas as a home schooled diploma.

A: ALC in an accelerated program, so it is not accredited by national accreditation organizations or agencies. We are committed to providing quality service to our students, so our program administers High School Equivalency Exams that tests your knowledge of basic Math, English, History, etc. Once you are able to pass this exam, you are recognized as a home-school graduate.
Q: Will potential employers be able to verify my high school diploma?
A: YES! We understand that one of the most important aspects of our high school equivalency program is a defined process for program verification that can be used by current or potential employers. Once a student has passed the tests, they will be provided with a diploma with in 14 business days as well as a phone number that potential employers or other organizations can use to verify that a student has successfully completed our program.
Q: How old do you have to be? Is there an Age Requirement?
There is no "maximum" age for enrollment in our program. However, in order to successfully be recognized as a home-schooled graduate, you must be of age to have actually attained your high school diploma prior to registration. For example, if you are scheduled to graduate in 2008, you cannot receive your diploma until May of 2008 or later. You are not permitted to "opt out" of high school graduation in order to complete your schooling early.
